Good morning, this is Josh Tripp Principal of Chillicothe Intermediate School. This morning a staff member required medical attention so emergency services were called, which some of you may have noticed at drop off. Thank you to everyone who expressed concern and I apologize for any worry this may have caused.
If you or your child ever have a concern regarding school safety, this is a 24/7 tip line!

Good afternoon! We are altering our pick up procedures to load our students more safely and quickly at dismissal. All 5th and 6th grade students will be dismissed down the ramp side of the back. Parents are to pick up their child/children after the stairs. Please pull up to the teacher on duty with the Please Pull Forward sign. We are hoping this encourages parents to pull all of the way forward to get more students loaded and on their way quickly and safely. Also, as a friendly reminder, please do not stop in the middle of the road as it blocks traffic and we do not want students running out and getting hit. We care about our students at CIS!
The Chillicothe Kiwanis is in partnership with the 4th Grade Staff at Chillicothe Intermediate School to support the 4th Grade Students through the BUGs, or Bringing Up Grades program. This is designed to support and encourage the students to raise their grades into an acceptable range, and maintain or continue to raise them from one grading period to the next. On January 11th, Chillicothe Kiwanis brought 82 hot fudge sundaes from Dairy Queen to celebrate our 4th grade BUGs!

Chillicothe City Schools honors Martin Luther King Jr. Day. We hope you will all reflect on his messages of peace and equality throughout his life. 💙
Martin Luther King Jr. was a prominent civil rights leader and minister who advocated for racial equality through nonviolent resistance. Born in 1929, he became the face of the American civil rights movement, delivering his iconic “I Have a Dream” speech in 1963. King’s tireless efforts led to the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965. Tragically, he was assassinated in 1968, but his legacy continues to inspire generations worldwide.

After causing mayhem the last couple of weeks over here at Chillicothe Intermediate School, The Grinch has finally been apprehended!
Here is the official statement from our officers:
After several mischievous acts including theft, criminal trespass, criminal mischief, and breaking and entering into the Chillicothe Intermediate School, it was investigated by our School Resource Officers, and determined to be none other than the notorious green criminal we all know and love as the Grinch. He tried very hard to steal our Christmas Joy, along with food items, and decorations, but due to our swift, fast acting, and smart School Resource Officers Timothy Boltenhouse, Julie Preston, and Darren Hall, in conjunction with the help of Captain Michael Short, the continued destruction and devastation of Christmas was ended. We would like to take this time to wish everyone in Chillicothe a Happy Holiday and a very Happy New Year!
